MEETINGS

If you're looking to hire a consultant, we have a list of current members e-mail us a brief description of your needs: info@ieeeconsultants.com.

2023 is a rebuilding year for the IEEE Consultants' Network of San Diego. During the pandemic, the network like a lot of organizations faltered.  We had limited meetings over the past three years.

We have restarted in person meetings in 2023 and are currently working on rebuilding membership.  We have a dedicated leadership team that is committed to making the Network a major resource for our members and for the San Diego technical community.

MAXIMIZE REVENUE AND MINIMIZE ARGUMENTS
FROM YOUR CONTRACTS

Rob Cogan - Continuum Law

This presentation will address using a contract to set up a good working relationship, avoid arguments, and make getting paid a smooth process. You can define measurable criteria, account for foreseeable difficulties ahead of time, and reduce or eliminate miscommunication. Problems unique to software contracts, e.g., exclusivity, will be addressed. Many of these principles can be used even when you are a small supplier to a big company. A smooth, successful contract maximizes your potential for profit.

Speaker

Rob Cogan is a high-tech attorney at Continuum Law in downtown San Diego. The firm handles business, intellectual property, patents, contracting, subcontracting, and litigation. Rob’s background includes both private practice and corporate practice at a Fortune 200 diversified high tech company with operations on all seven continents. Rob received his electrical engineering degree from The Cooper Union in New York City, and his law degree from the George Washington University National Law Center. He is a long-time member of the San Diego IEEE Consultants Network.
